March – April 2025 at CARA
Happy Easter from CARA! Below are some updates from the last two months at our office! Thank you for your continued support and interest in our research!
News and Publications
- The annual Ordination Class Report has been released! This report gives data on the men joining the priesthood in 2025, and can be accessed in full from the USCCB. We pray for these men as many receive priestly ordination in the coming months!
- CARA’s coverage of mass attendance continues with a new blog post from researcher Mark Gray, this time examining online mass attendance. Recent data suggests that the increase in online mass attendance caused by the pandemic is a more permanent phenomenon, while in-person mass attendance returns to pre-pandemic levels.
Happenings at CARA
In March, CARA traveled to Mexico City for a gathering of the Global Research Network, including researchers from the Catholic research centers in Kenya, India, and Mexico. The meeting was not only a success, but a joy of collaboration and fellowship, CARA thanks the generous hosts of the Desarrollo y Salud Integral (DSI) research center, as well as the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation for their continued support. The event was covered by the Global Sisters Report; you can read their coverage here.

CARA also recently presented at the CUSHWA Center’s 50th Anniversary Conference on Catholic Modernity in the Americas. Researcher Mark Gray and research assistant Emma Mitchell presented on intersections of environmental justice and the locations of Catholic parish closures.
